Country House Refurbishment
We were invited to tender for the alterations to this handsome 5 bedroom house which was originally designed and built by Unsworth the renowned local architect in the 1930’s.
Architects and interior designers Arior Design www.ariordesign.co.uk were engaged by clients for the remodelling of the property together with concepts for internal layouts and fitments.
Following a period of tendering we were awarded the contract for whole house remodelling involving the insertion of new metal casement doors and windows to the main rooms, formation of an open plan kitchen and family room, replacement bathroom and showers, removal of chimney stacks and fireplaces, replacement electrical and heating systems, bespoke bedroom furniture, detailed stone wall and floor tiling to the bathrooms, engineered flooring to the ground floors and internal decoration.
Period features of the house – panelling and the main stairs were protected and retained to maintain the character of the building.
We engaged VECA architects www.veca.co.uk to assist with internal layouts during the construction phase as the project evolved.
Externally, fascias and soffits were replaced together with aluminium gutter to restore the lines to the building.
An enjoyable project to restore the property to a fabulous family home.
